Biography
Hervin Augustus Bailey Jr (born 3 October 1992), popularly known as Blvk H3ro, is a Jamaican Singer, Songwriter, Producer and Creative. Previously went by the Stage name “Jr” but due to legal and spiritual reasons it was replaced. He is referred to as the “Bob Marley that can sing like Michael Jackson”
Early Life
Our young Singer’s journey started in the sunshine city of Portmore, well Waterford to be exact which is also home to Dancehall Legend Vybz Kartel. H3ro is the eldest of two Sons, he was raised in a Christian home his father a Pastor and his mother an evangelist, so this meant being exposed to church from a tender age and that’s when his exposure to music began as well. He started to play the drums at the age of 8, by the age of 13 he also started singing on the youth choir which helped to nurture his Vocals and sound but it wasn’t until He started to attend Excelsior High School that he really developed a love for the arts within those 4 years of high school, H3ro entered a lot of Competitions, talent shows and concerts within excelsior as long as it contained an art form he could express in. After he left excelsior he went on to PCC (Portmore Community College) in hopes of attaining a degree in the field of IT (Information Technology) but due to financial constraints he had to stop and find a means to support his family and his craft and this led to getting a job at NCB (National Commercial Bank).NCB was a key moment in our Young Singer’s life, this was where he finally made the decision to enter the Music business but this wasn’t till after working there for 3 years. At age 20 he left NCB and had one goal in mind, to become a Recording and Performing Artist.
Career & Notable Accomplishments
H3ro Began officially recording music in 2012, he was working alongside the independent Label MBP (Mhaadboxx production). While h3ro and the label were working on the sound, their First major Accomplishment came, a collaboration with Jasoul and polish rappers Full House for the Polish festival called “Jewunalia”, not only was it the song of the festival, it was also the first ever Polish multi-lingual song, meaning English Polish & patios. H3ro also released 2 singles later that year “Live This Life” & “Downtown” which was featured on blogs such as Best of elite & Hype life Magazine and popular online Channels such as Akam ENT and others. In 2013 another major Accomplishment, H3ro’s Remix to Major Lazer ‘s Get Free Song “My Story” was placed on their official Stream and got half a million plays (500k) in a matter of Days And was awarded Silver and bronze medals for Songwriting by several Blogs and international critics. H3ro has been constantly growing from strength to strength with each performance, developing a style and a sound unique to him. in 2015 alone our young H3ro has performed at over 20+ shows, which includes The Hauge Festival(Crowd of 15k), Open Ear, Rain Forest Seafood Festival (crowd 10k), Feeding of the 5000, various Lounges and University/College performances just to name a few. Our young h3ro has a band of young musicians as well, hand picked by him called the Ragga Rockers. No longer with MBP, h3ro and his #tribe Is currently working on a project, the title and release date is still unknown but it has garnered the attention of the Airwaves and Ear waves with 2 unofficial releases from the project “we all are one” & “Herb”. When asked what are his plans for future of his music he often tends to recite the Jamaican Pledge. “Before god and all mankind I pledge the love and loyalty of my heart, the wisdom and courage of my mind the strength and vigor of my body, so that Jamaica may, under god, increase in beauty fellowship ad prosperity”
