San Diego was pumped. I was pumped! Hometown boys Tribal Seeds were going to play at a venue near Belmont Park. Right in the heart of Mission Beach. How sick was that gonna be? And, add to that, the incredible sounds of The Expanders and Groundation too? It’s obvious to see why this event sold out.

But…alas…it was too good to be true. No one has confirmed what exactly happened but the venue was switched the day of the event. This obviously frustrated many. Pure speculation on my part, but I’m guessing our friend Covid at least had a co-starring role of some kind. But who knows. For folks like me though…I actually was still pretty pleased with the way it worked out.

Because, in the end, it was switched to The Observatory in North Park. Not exactly a slacker of a venue. The lighting was superb… the sound incredible… and the ambiance of the old North Park Theatre (the name I remember it as) made the vibe unique. You’re essentially watching a live show in a theatre formerly used to present talkies. It’s just cool. And the musicians brought it. Here are some highlights… – Eyeree
