Spiritual ‘ s faith has destined him to this world with a mission to spread the message of Jah through the gift of his music. Motivated by his faith and freedom of expression, he brings authentic warmth in his delivery of true “Roots Reggae Rock” culture to the whole world with love honor and intensity for this generation.
Inspired by the words of Marcus Garvey, Bob Marley, Joseph ”Culture” Hill and Winston “Burning Spear” Rodney , Spiritual is an accomplished singer / songwriter who has adapted the traditional Roots Reggae elements (forceful drum and bass lines, raw Jamaican culture overlaid with rock elements) in creating an arsenal of great songs such as “Jah A Di Roots”, “Stop the War” (released by Tuff Gong Records and produced by roots producer Tony “Big Red” Aiken) “Third Covenant”, “Running Away From Sin,” “The Truth”, “Remain Silent”, “Red Eye”, “My World”, “Marathon” featuring Italian reggae superstar Alborosie (released by RJR Records now rootsJamaica and featured on Alborosie’s Forward Label for Italian distribution), that have helped to create massive traction for this artist.
From the Allman Town area of Kingston Jamaica where he attended Allman Town Primary, Holy Trinity High School and Eastern Academy, Spiritual showed his affection for music at an early age. He started singing in local talent contests, school concerts and also in his church choir. Relocating to the U.S., Spiritual continued his studied with a focus on Poetry and Journalism.
Due to Spiritual’s commitment and awareness of social consciousness and his in-your-face messages in song, he has now become one of the most sought after voices and songwriter in recent years collaborating with reggae music industry’s A-listers producers and performers including Michael “Black Uhuru” Rose, Alborosie, Bobby Digital (Sizzla, Buju Banton, Morgan Heritage) and Sly & Robbie (No Doubt, Michael Franti & Spearhead etc.). Spiritual’s talents are wide-ranging; in addition to singing / songwriting his acting skills are displayed in appearances in Blockbuster movies such as “Love Jones” and “Brown Sugar”. His television appearances include the internationally syndicated televised “WGN Morning Show”. Internationally, Spiritual’s performance has been generating a wave of excellent reviews. Since his early days of professional dancing (stage productions in Jamaica) he has performed at a number of prestigious events including “Shabba Ranks World Unity Tour”, “Jamaica’s Reggae Sumfest” “Sunsplash”, “Reggae Cultural Festival”, “Chicago’s Caribbean Festival”, “Wisconsin’s Reggae Festival”, “Rhumbuzz”, “Taste of Chicago” and “Jamaica’s Rototom 2008 Sunsplash”.
