The mighty Howard Biography
The MIGHTY HOWARD was born in 1978 as Howard Booker Bridges in Colorado USA, and grew up in New York (Jamaica Queens and East Harlem). The cultural diversity of New York inspired him to embrace his own culture as an Afro-American.After returning to Colorado, he was primarily involved in the Performing Arts and developed into a musician of many talents.
From 2001 to 2005, he travelled and lived in Scotland, Amsterdam and Ireland. At that time Howard began to mix records as a selector/DJ and he also presented himself as a solo artist with acoustic guitar and vocals.
A short time later he discovered, in Reggae music, his most powerful form of expression and appeared from 2005 onwards as The MIGHTY HOWARD. He created his first recordings under the Album title “Love Kingdom”.
Howard moved to Hamburg, Germany in 2006 and in 2007 began working in the studio with well-known Reggae Producer, ‘Pensi’ from IRE HI-FI to Riddims by The Uptones.
In 2009, PLANET DREAD RECORDS released the first 7” Single by MIGHTY HOWARD in cooperation with IRE HI-FI. „Run From Di Thunder / Never Get Away Dub“.In the 2009 Sept/Oct German edition of RIDDIM MAGAZINE, Mighty Howard was featured in a article called, ‘Many Ways Out Of Babylon’, and the song, ‘Run From Di Thunder’ was also featured on the Magazines compilation CD.
In August, Mighty Howard travelled to Ostróda Reggae Fest in Poland, and performed to a crowd of hundreds with Canadian reggae producer, Dubmatix. In November of the same year, Mighty Howard joined, Dubmatix, on his European Tour through France, Barcelona, The Netherlands, Germany and Czech.
In February of 2010, Dubmatix took Mighty on a second tour, returning to France as well as touring through the UK with shows in London. While on tour, the songs, ‘Irieness’, ‘Natty Drum’, ‘Artillery’ and ‘The Berlin Sessions’ were recorded and produced by Irie Ites Music & One Drop Music.
During the first tour, Mighty was introduced to Berlin reggae producer and One Drop music partner, Aldubb, who recorded and performed on ‘The Berlin Sessions’. In March of 2010 Mighty decided to ask Aldubb to help produce a new Album. After a few sessions in the studio, Mighty and Aldubb have produced, ‘Jah Soldier’, which will be Mighty Howard’s debut.
