Busy Signal To Be Released Later This Month

Dancehall star Busy Signal should be back on the streets in less than two weeks.

Initial reports suggest that the deejay, born Glendale Gordon, would be released today, November 19. However, Signal’s lawyer KD Knight told the Observer that he will be released in approximately two weeks.

“Well, you can quote me on this,” KD Knight said.

“I expect that he will be released in a short period, about two weeks,”Knight added.

Sources close to the Alliance deejay told Urban Islandz that he will be released on November 21.

“Busy should be back on the streets around November 21 no doubt,” the source said.

Busy Signal pleaded to a charge of absconding in a Minnesota court this summer after he was arrested at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston and extradited to the United States a month prior.

His legal troubles dated back 10 years due to a drug charge in Minnesota before he became a recording artist. However, the “One More Night” deejay reportedly jumped his bail and fled to Jamaica. He has managed to elude authorities for a decade before his arrest in May 2012.

His legal team consists of KD Night and Charles ‘Advoket’ Ganga-Singh told the court that he could only be charged with absconding bail due to the extradition treaty between Jamaica and the United States.

Signal was sentenced to only two months on that charge.
