How We Play!, written and produced by Trinidad’s Marlon Chen of MRI and Precision Productions, features two of the region’s hottest artists; Konshens (Jamaica) and Kes (Trinidad & Tobago), like you’ve never heard them before. The innovative mix is sure to spawn a new genre Chen calls “Caribbean Dance”- a mix of Soca, Dancehall and Techno music. With How We Play!, Chen combines the best elements of each genre and the result will inevitably make you want to get up and dance.
Cricket fans will experience the energy and vibe of Caribbean cricket when Kes sings: “Get up and unite for your team, we’ll give the best we’ve got. Hands up, right up and play hard. We’ll take it to the top, it’s how we play”.
Fans will feel the pulse and soul of what cricket means to West Indians when Konshens chants: “Every ball, Every bat, Every bleach (bleachers), Every pad, Every bail, Every wicket, Every stump! Ah the heart and soul and passion ah the culture, Caribbean blood when people come out all nation for the team in ah unification; when the stadium ram bleacher to grand stand ah the meaning of beautification.”
On being a part of the official Caribbean Premier League (CPL) anthem, Konshens expressed his excitement,
“It feels good to be a part of anything Caribbean, especially cricket which is such a big part of our West Indian culture, and it’s a great achievement for me.”
Fans will be able to download the CPL Anthem, How we Play! From the official site.
The first ever Caribbean Premiere League begins on Tuesday July 30 with 24 matches played across 6 Caribbean countries: Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Lucia and Trinidad & Tobago.
