The UK’s sexiest rapper/producer Simmy Wilson has teamed up with International Reggae Artist Spragga Benz for her debut single “Hotboi”. The highly anticipated video is due for release January 2011, with the preview video gaining an impressive 900,000 views on her YouTube page.

Since the single was first released a few months ago, it has been creating a worldwide buzz within the music industry. With hard work and dedication Simmy has independently achieved airplay on radio stations such as Hot97, Choice FM, Galaxy Radio, and more recently she appeared as a special guest on 1Xtra’s Dancehall Show with Robbo Ranx for an exclusive interview and live performance of the song with Spragga Benz himself.

Being a female rapper/producer Simmy has overcome many obstacles over the years to make a name for herself. However since Spragga Benz’s management team heard the song and he agreed to feature on it, things have taken a turn in the right direction for the talented Manchester born rapper. Simmy first started producing in 2001 and later went on to writing her own songs and develop her unique rapping style. This style is a fusion of mancunian twang and US swagger, the latter of which had a heavy influence on her when growing up in Manchester and not London. In 2002 Simmy produced her first album entitled “Peace and Love”. This led to sales of more than 2000 copies and attracted interest from Sony in America, where they recognised her raw talent. Due to lack of development deals at the time she was unable to progress further with Sony and this led to her taking a 6 year break from music.

In 2009 Simmy exploded back onto the music scene by making a name for herself as a Hip Hop Honey. She has since featured in music videos with some of the biggest UK and US artists including Giggs, G Unit, Kano, Dizzee Rascal and many more. Simmy has also marketed herself as a model and has appeared in magazines such as Black Hair, HHC, Dymes and FHM. Her most recent achievement has seen her become the first black girl to appear in number one selling mens magazine NUTS. In just under a year Simmy has masterminded her comeback and 2010 saw her get back into the studio and write her monster single “Hotboi”. This is fast making her the hottest unsigned talent within the industry. The UK finally has an answer to Missy Elliott, Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim. Her name is Simmy Wilson.
