Will Mavado perform at this year’s Montreal Reggae Festival? That is the burning question in the minds of the entertainment community as Mavado , who faces a litany of assault charges in local courts, attempts to gain a Canadian work permit to perform at the event.
This first step is even more critical as it is also a barometer by which to judge his changes of landing a US work permit to perform at next month’s Reggae R & B show in New York.
This year, the Montreal International Reggae Festival team promises the most recognizable artistes in the raggae and dancehall industry with headliners such as popular entertainers: Mavado, the legendary Beres Hammond, Sharon Tucker, Wayne Wonder, Third World and international artist of the year: Gyptian. Each one of them will take the stage at the Quays of the Old Port of Montreal during the two-day festival on August 20th and 21st, 2011 for the 8th edition of what has become a tradition for reggae music supporters around the world.
