DUTCH – Als jullie de afgelopen weken even niets gehoord hebben van jullie favoriete bands dan is er een grote kans dat zij het te druk hadden met zich kandidaat te stellen voor de Benelux Reggae Contest, georganiseerd door Reggae Geel en M-Town Reggae. 35 bands en artiesten – uit verschillende genres zoals ska, reggae, afro-reggae, dub en dancehall – stuurden hun beste songs en videofragmenten in om mee te dingen naar een plekje in de Live-finale van de Benelux Reggae Contest.
En jullie kunnen hen hierbij een handje helpen. Om de drie finalisten te selecteren wordt er immers niet alleen een beroep gedaan op een vakjury maar ook de publieksstem, jullie dus, heeft hierin een belangrijk aandeel. Laat dus van jullie horen, laat ons weten welke bands jullie het beste vinden en help jullie favoriete band zo een stapje dichterbij die felbegeerde finaleplaats. Trouwens, ook op de live-finale, die gehouden wordt op 15 april in De Muziekgieterij te Maastricht (NL), kunnen jullie je stem uitbrengen. En als jullie onderstaande prijzenpakket eens doornemen wordt ook onmiddellijk duidelijk dat jullie zelf nog veel plezier kunnen beleven aan het steunen van jullie favoriet, want er liggen heel wat concerten in het verschiet voor de winnaar.
De winnaar van de Benelux Reggae Contest zal op 2 juni de Benelux vertegenwoordigen op de finale van de European Reggae Contest in de Razzmatazz Club te Barcelona, Spanje. Naast deze finaleplaats heeft de winnaar ook recht op promotietournee langs festivals en clubs zoals Reggae Fèr (Raamsdonkveer, NL), Future Reggae Ruigoord (Amsterdam, NL), Rastaplas (Zoetermeer, NL), Dour Festival (Dour, B) en Democrazy Muziekclub (Gent, B). Naast deze concerten ligt er ook nog extra media-aandacht op de winnende band te wachten (reggae.be en worldareggae.com), een jaar lang professionele vertegenwoordiging door het Skinfama-agency en een professionele CD-opname i.s.m. Not Easy At All Productions en Clash Productions. De winnaar van de Europese finale krijgt een volledige Europese tournee cadeau met in de Benelux concerten op Future Reggae Ruigoord (Amsterdam, NL), Feest in het Park (Oudenaarde, B) en de Bob Marley Birthday Bashment 2012 (Geel, B).
Voor Nederland hebben 14 bands zich ingeschreven, niet slecht voor zo’n klein landje, voor Belgie hebben 29 bands zich opgegeven, hieronder de Nederlandse inzendingen:

ENGLISH – There is a big chance you haven’t heard a lot of your favorite reggae band recently. They were quite busy organizing their inscription for the Benelux Reggae Contest, organized by Reggae Geel and M-Town Reggae. 35 bands and artists playing different types of Jamaican music such as ska, reggae, afro-reggae, dub and dancehall entered the competition by sending us their best tunes and videos with only one purpose: to get into the live final of the Benelux Reggae Contest.
And now it’s up to you! We are looking for 3 finalists and we also need your vote. One part of the vote will come from a professional jury, the other part from none other than you, the audience! So please let us know who your favorites are or just help your favorite band to get into the finals. Please find all additional info on how to vote on www.beneluxreggaecontest.eu By the way, when you attend the big final in De Muziekgieterij in Maastricht (NL) on 15 April you get an extra chance to vote for your favorite band. Please also take a look at the prices that can be won by the winners. Not only a big boost for your band but also a nice opportunity to catch your favorites on several different occasions.
The winner of the Benelux Reggae Contest will represent the Benelux on 2 June in the finals of the European Reggae Contest which will be held at the Razzmatazz Club in Barcelone, Spain. But there’s more! Our winner will get a nice promotional tour with concerts at festivals and clubs such as Reggae Fèr (Raamsdonkveer, NL), Future Reggae Ruigoord (Amsterdam, NL), Rastaplas (Zoetermeer, NL), Dour Festival (Dour, B) and Democrazy Muziekclub (Gent, B). They will also get extra media attention on reggae.be and worldareggae.com, a professional representation by Skinfama Agency for 1 year and a professional CD-recording session provided by Not Easy At All Productions and Clash Productions.
The winner of the European final will get a full European tour with concerts in the Benelux at the Future Reggae Ruigoord (Amsterdam, NL), Feest in het Park (Oudenaarde, B) and the Bob Marley Birthday Bashment 2012 (Geel, B).
