Photos: Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Reggae Jam Germany

One festival I eagerly anticipate every year is the Reggae Jam Festival in Bersenbrück, Germany. If you haven’t been there yet, I highly recommend adding it to your list. The festival takes place in the heart of the picturesque town of Bersenbrück, nestled among charming half-timbered houses (Fachwerkhäuser), and is set in what I believe to be a monastery garden.

The festival’s unique layout features two stages positioned side by side, ensuring a continuous flow of music. While one stage is being prepared, the other is in full swing. Over the past three decades, Reggae Jam has earned its reputation as a cornerstone of European reggae music. Since its inception in 1994, the festival has consistently delivered outstanding performances, making it an essential experience for reggae lovers.

For me, it also is one of the few festivals with a backstage where it is still possible to network and speak with artists, hear their latest news, plans, releases, make jokes, and submerge in a family vibe. Even those who have to perform the next day are present to hang out with their fellow artists to have a good time. Probably this is one of the main reasons for me to return every year. Sheriff… Mr. Lagermann and team, thanks for having World A Reggae again this year. I hope to be back next year for the festival’s amazing vibes

This year the festival had performances by o.a. Busy Signal, Etana, Mellow Mood, Italee, Natty King, Samora, Khalia, Jah Lil, Queen Ifrica, Romain Virgo, Loyal Flames,Black Uhuru, Blvk H3ro, Kumar, Samory I, Jah Tung, Roughhouse, Akeem Garrison, Iqulah, Mike Love, Sara Lugo Etc etc.. and the closing act: Burning Spear.

Enjoy the pictures!
