Mateel Forever Reggae Legacy 2019 – Kabaka Pyramid – Ishi Dube – Arkaingelle. The Reggae Legacy 2019 event honored the life of Carol Bruno. August 3, 2019.
The vibes continue at the Mateel Center for what many considered the mini-Reggae On The River gathering this year. After the annual festival was abruptly cancelled earlier in the year, many wondered what they would do on that special weekend. Normally it was a time to reconnect with the reggae family again along the Eel river. But this year was going to be different. We instead celebrated the life of Mateel Board Member, and one of the original organizers for the first Reggae On The River, Carol Bruno.
This 2 day event featured Kabaka Pyramid and the Bebble Rockers and Toots and the Maytals as the headliners for Saturday and Sunday respectively. World A Reggae was lucky enough to attend the Saturday night show. Along with KP…we also were treated to opening acts Arkaingelle and Ishi Dube. And the vibes were sky high! The house was packed. Lots of families and ROTR regulars in attendance. I won’t lie…it felt good for this fan of the event to wish my fellow attendees…”Happy Reggae” again.
