Nestled in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Northern California, next to Lake Tahoe, is the small mountain town of Truckee. A perfect sanctuary from the valley heat below and only a short drive from the world-class ski resorts nearby. This was a perfect spot to hold a reggae festival.

In its second year, the Truckee Reggae Festival continued its tradition of being a roots reggae celebration. This year’s lineup included Ky-mani Marley, Sister Carol, Big Mountain, J-Ras and the Higher Elevation, Third World, Wailing Souls, Lutan Fyah & the Fyah Squad, Arise Roots, and Pipe Down. Here are a few highlights from this year’s event.
