Reggae Music legend Bob Marley was recently honored by music’s most prestigious body, Grammy.
The late king of reggae was honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award earlier this month.
Bob’s eldest son Ziggy Marley, and daughter Karen was on hand at the Los Angeles Film School on Sunset Boulevard to received the award following a screening of the new documentary movie “Marley
The idea for the award arouse from a recent visit to Jamaica by personnel from the Recording Academy, who noticed that a posthumous award given to the music icon in 2001 was damaged.
The Grammy Recording Academy president and CEO, Neil Portnow, has high praises for Bob Marley’s music, calling it “song of faith, devotion and revolution.”
Bob Marley died in May 1981 after a battle with cancer. He was 36 at the time of his death.
