Londoners are in for a very special treat on Sunday 8th July 2018 at Somerset House where David Rodigan & The Outlook Orchestra will grace the stage as part of the Summer Series alongside a series of guest artists and performers.
For 40 years David ‘Ram Jam’ Rodigan has been celebrated as the top dog in the promotion and celebration of reggae in Britain. This special performance features The Outlook Orchestra and some very special guests.
David Rodigan’s undiminished passion for reggae music, which was initially sparked after hearing ska in the early 1960s as a schoolboy, rapidly developed into an obsession with Jamaican music that has generated an encyclopaedic knowledge of the island’s artists, songs and rhythm tracks.
He began his broadcasting career in 1978 on BBC Radio London and has championed reggae on multi-award winning slots for Capital Radio, JBC Radio in Jamaica, Kiss, Radio 2 and Radio 1Xtra, leading to an MBE for his services to broadcasting in 2012, all the while establishing a fearsome live reputation in clashes with all the top Jamaican sound systems.
His unique collection of customised dub plates and classic recordings is in more demand than ever and thankfully for loyal reggae fans of all ages he shows no signs of stopping. Don’t miss the 40th anniversary tour of a true legend and British music icon, featuring a night of very special guest artists.
