Roots reggae living legend Don Carlos is currently on tour with the Dub Vision Band in France and will be performing at a handfull of venues during January/February 2013.
Hailing from the ghetto of Waterhouse in West Kingston, Jamaica, also the musical spawning ground for the hardest roots reggae outfits to come from the golden era of reggae, Carlos has been recording and performing for more than 40 years. A founding member of Black Uhuru, along with neighborhood friends garth Dennis and Duckie Simpson, Carlos left the power trio before they even recorded their first full-length studio album and spent the next 2o years as a successful solo artist, often collaborating with the likes of King Jammy, Henry ‘Junjo’ Lawes, and vocalist Gold. He reformed Black Uhuru with founding members Simpson and Dennis in 1990 and released 5 stunning albums between 1990 and 1996, raising the bar and setting a new standard for roots music in the nineties. His latest solo album Changes, released on January 2, 2010 on the Heartbeat label, is his first studio album since 1998. Most recently he has worked with the emerging roots reggae artists from North America, including Groundation and Rebelution.
