A numerous audience welcomed the Benelux Reggae Contest at the Muziekgieterij in Maastricht. Hailed by the audience all three bands, which offered 3 very different shows, making the jury’s work even more difficult. In a battle between three bands; the Dutch Jampara & The Batalion and belgian bands Dr. Bue Beat and Wahwahsda, the final decision selected a Belgian band, which blends traditional rocksteady with a more contemporary combination of melodic singing and rap. Wahwasdah is the first name out of 7 to be announced for the European Reggae Contest finals, that will take place at Razzmatazz in Barcelona, on June the 2nd. We gratefully thank the Benelux reggae community and of course the club for this marvellous party and for the warm welcome.
