A petition for reggae artiste Siccature Alcock, more popularly known as Jah Cure, to have his United States and United Kingdom visas issued to him has been bombarding popular social networking website Twitter.com.
Several fans recently took to the reggae star’s page to express their desire for him to do performances in the US and the UK.
Among the posts by UK fans include: “Right, let’s do this! @CureAgain I’m starting a twitter petition to get you over to the UK! Please support #JahCureUKVisa – Let’s go!!! RT”, RT @lainycowan: RT if you want @CureAgain in the UK. We should start a campaign !! WE WANT THE CURE” and “@CureAgain … someone please let the worlds’ biggest reggae artiste since Robert Nesta Marley in to the UK … Jah Bless”.
US fans also made their presence felt with posts such as: “@CureAgain When you get to di USA my son & I will b first in line to see @CureAgain #WorldCry di whole world needs to hear!”, “RT @JasonWalker_ if u want JAh Cure @CureAgain in the #USA. We should start a #campaign!! “WE WANT THE CURE!” #Demand #Good #Artists #Reggae”,
Jah Cure replied to his fans by tweeting: “Big ups to ALL mi fans for being so supportive!! Bless! One day I will perform in every country!! #WorldCry coming soon!”
After serving time in prison, Jah Cure is still without a US visa and was banned from doing a tour in the UK by the UK Home Office since his release from prison.
Last year, he penned a song titled Save Yourself about the Visa troubles which several Jamaican entertainers, including himself, were going through.
