This November, VP Records New York were thrilled to present ‘Rockers Style Live!’, a blazing three-hour online session with selectors Jah Wise (Tippertone International) and DJ Vaughn Allstar (‘Footsteps of Reggae’ on WKCR-FM), to celebrate the release of the ‘Rockers: Irie Box Set’, now available via VP Reggae. Running vinyl selections and versing on the impact and legacy of one of the most iconic reggae films ever made, the ‘Rockers Style’ session can be listened back to via the video link above.

The mighty veteran selector, Jah Wise made a brief cameo in the 1978 ‘Rockers’ film, directed by Theodoros Bafaloukos and starring a number of seminal artists, including Leroy “Horsemouth” Wallace, Burning Spear, Gregory Isaacs, Big Youth, Dillinger, and Jacob Miller. Jah Wise can be seen cooly painting the Lion of Judah on Horsemouth’s motorcycle. 

In celebration of the all-time classic reggae film, the ‘Rockers: The Irie Box Set’ package includes the newly-pressed, original vinyl soundtrack of the film on red, yellow, and green tri-colored vinyl, featuring music by Junior Murvin, The Heptones, Kiddus-I, Burning Spear & many more greats. As well as a DVD and Blu-ray copy of the film, the box set includes a deluxe Japanese photo book, poster, iron-on t-shirt decal, rolling papers, postcards, and various original VHS box covers.
