Jamaican producer DAMEON GAYLE released his new one drop SAME STORY riddim.
Featuring Busy Signal, Charly Black, Konshens, Delus, Demarco, Dameon Gayle, Latty J, A Pass, and Devano.
Dameon Gayle started working on the SAME STORY riddim in 2015, but it took some time for him to gather the artists he wanted on it. It is such a special project for Dameon, not only he is debuting as a singer himself but he also played the drums, keys, organs and strings on the riddim, alongside fellow musicians Delroy “Pele” Hamilton on the bass and the late great Courtland “Gizmo” White on the guitar.
“This riddim has so much sentimental attachment to it, in-terms of the artistes and musicians that took part and how we connected in music life.” explains Dameon Gayle and continues:
“Delus was my best friend and the godfather to my son. This is the last song he recorded before he died in 2016.
Busy Signal is a big brother who gave me the opportunity to work with him just by seeing my talent. This is an artiste I admired before I took music seriously.
Konshens is like family, we had major hit videos together and he always supported me.
Courtland “Gizmo” White was like a father to me, he played 90% of live guitars on my productions and he is the person who taught me to make riddims. We had planned to do live performances of me singing my song.”
Dameon Gayle’s debut single “I Am” is an artistic way for him to express his feelings in music. Like a
translation. “I am coming out officially as an artist as I have been a ghostwriter for many years for many different artists in the industry,” he explains and continues:
“So this is my first official single being released, entitled “I Am”. This song was inspired by life itself and the many challenges I went through, dealing with anxiety and depression. Life is always teaching us each day. I hope to inspire and help others as I continue my journey to self-love and healing.”
