Fikir Amlak and Akashic Records met Crucial Rob during the “Serious Time” remix challenge in 2020. Out of over 200 entrants, Rob’s mixes rose to the top and he won the contest.

The musicians continued working together – reasoning, recording, and performing live shows. Their next release was “Middle Pillar” which came out as a Green King Cuts 7″ polyvinyl.

The “Middle Pillar” release did very well, and they decided to build a full album focused on the theme of Alchemy. Eventually, this turned into “Black Sun” a 15-track album with the first 10 tracks being pressed to an LP!

The Bandcamp / Digital album has 5 extra tracks that are not on the vinyl LP, including Dreadstone and Truth Seeker with dubs, plus a beautiful acoustic version of Black Sun.

While all of the parties have released plenty of music, this is the first LP for Akashic Records, Fikir Amlak and Crucial Rob. The Black Sun LP ships for the June 28th release date, pre-orders get two tracks right away – Black Sun and Black Dub!
