May 20, 2020 — Kingston, Jamaica — On Thursday 21st May 2020, rising musician Hector “Roots Percussionist” Lewis releases his new single, “LOVE SAVIOUR” which is produced by New York Producer Dretegs. The latest song is a follow-up to “Outlaw”, which featured US-based recording artistes Royal Khaoz and QNA.
Roots Percussionist, whose mother was the legendary reggae-turned-gospel singer Barbara Jones who passed away in 2014, said that he wanted to celebrate the divinity of female energy as a source of healing for humankind. “Listening to my mother’s voice growing up, I was exposed to the lovers rock, reggae, and disco era quite a lot. Her musical influence has really inspired my own sound and journey and it has definitely shaped the way I appreciate all genres of music to this day. My mother’s love is the first I have ever known, and this song is special for anyone that has experienced the fullness of what true love in all forms can do to make your life brighter and better.”
“LOVE SAVIOUR” is a smooth, upbeat offering that will bring listeners to their feet in true 2-step fashion. Dedicated to the young and the young at heart, its beautiful melodies are reminiscent of the 70’s era of music, with a contemporary twist.
Roots Percussionist, who has also worked with superstars in his career such as Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, OVO Music’s Popcaan and Jesse Royal, hopes that the new single which he co-wrote with Andre “Dretegs” Havthorne, inspires people to dance, sing and find a true sense of happiness during the current times. “My music will always be an extension of I, and the spiritual balance that surrounds me through the gift that Rastafari gave me. I want “LOVE SAVIOUR” to send a message of harmony and happiness, and encourage people all over the world to live in the vessel of music with a clean mind and a pure heart,” he explained.
Roots’ seemingly limitless talents are well-known on the international reggae circuit, as the current percussionist and backup vocalist for Grammy-Nominated superstar Chronixx and Zincfence Redemption. The band has earned millions of fans around the world over the last 5 years and has headlined various festivals and sold-out concerts since the release of Chronixx’s critically-acclaimed “Chronology” album – including Coachella in the USA and Glastonbury Festival in the United Kingdom.
