Not so long ago we got familiar with a, for us, new name on the Reggae Scene. An energetic, Paramaribo born, Surinamese-Dutch Female Reggae-singer that goes by the name of Samora Souprayen, front lady of the band SAMORA. Samora’s reggae sound is fused with modern soul, funk and pop. Samora appeared this summer on various stages in Europe and left surely impressed her audiences.
“Me na fallin” is a powerful song that talks about the energy and the will of a young woman to face life with self-awareness and confidence. The song will inspire everyone – especially women – to go their way with perseverance, to aim high and to show commitment and passion for reaching their goals. The tune promotes having a positive attitude and believing in yourself and in your own strength.
“Me na fallin” is a collaboration between Samora and the Swiss Reggae-Combo Open Season. The Lyrics were written by Samora, the Riddim and production was done by Open Season, including a dancehall feature by singer Santosh. The result of this collaboration is a versatile song full of energy and positive vibes, that is rooted in different styles such as Reggae, Dancehall and Pop.
This collaboration between Samora and Open Season took place within the project “Female Reggae Voices”, in which Open Season presented four female Reggae artists to the festival audience in Switzerland in Summer 2018 thereby showing their commitment to promoting women in the music industry.
