After Roots Ites and Murderer, Joggo and Santomedia joined forces again for this music video
This Surinamese roots tune called ‘Meri Mi No’m Meri Mi’ is the first single from Joggo’s upcoming album, ‘Solid Ground’. As a descendant of Maroon and Indigenous ancestors, Joggo starts this song with an ode to God the Almighty and his ancestors. ‘Meri Mi N’om Meri Mi’ was sung by Joggo in Creole Surinamese and translated as ‘Don’t Touch Me‘.
With this song, Joggo wants to draw attention to the conservation and maintenance of the Surinamese rainforest, flora and fauna, people and animals, and its rich raw materials. With an eye fully focused on the present and the future, these are the things that Joggo finds most important for his beloved mother country Suriname! ‘Meri Mi No’m Meri Mi’ is also available on all download platforms!
