U.S. Virgin Islands reggae ambassador Pressure, aka Pressure Busspipe, returns Nov. 8 with his second album for renowned St. Croix label I Grade Records, Rebel With a Cause. The 14-track LP, released in conjunction with his own Busspipe Records, pairs Pressure once more with ace reggae production outfit Zion I Kings, sonic architects of his acclaimed 2014 album The Sound.
Featuring appearances from reggae all-stars Sizzla, Protoje, Jah9, Kabaka Pyramid, Anthony B and Akae Beka, as well as rap icon Redman and Virgin Islands hitmakers R. City, Rebel With A Cause incorporates a broad palette of sounds from dub and sample-driven hip-hop to soul and jazz, taking listeners on a meditative journey through topics from spirituality and romance to personal health. In addition to the core Zion I Kings team of Laurent “Tippy” Alfred, Andrew “Moon” Bain and David “Jah David” Goldfine, the album features additional production from Romain “Teflon Zincfence” Arnett (Chronixx), Winta James (Damian Marley, Protoje) and Dean Pond.
Pressure today shares “Streets Keep Calling,” a hard-hitting reggae x hip-hop anthem featuring fellow Rock City (St. Thomas, USVI) natives R. City, produced by Winta James.
