There has been a lot of discussion wether or not Afrobeats is taking over the sounds of Jamaica. Now a few years along the road Afrobeats found its way to Jamaica and gets fully embraced by Reggae and Dancehall Artists. The royal family of Morgan Heritage has always been at the forefront to pick up new styles and successfully mixing reggae/dancehall music with other genres to tap in to different global markets.
This new song ‘Who Deh Like u’ is taken from Morgan Heritage’s upcoming studio album ‘The Homeland’ which the group officially announced Earlier this week. ‘The Homeland’ wil be out on April 21. This new afro-fusion/world music project marks a new era as they expand their global reach from the Caribbean to the African Continent and beyond, including star-studded features from Popcaan, Youssou N’Dour, Shaggy, Beenie Man, Shatta Wale, Mádé Kuti, and more.
The Homeland is an LP of rebirth for the Morgan brothers, built upon a lineage that has lasted decades and one that will continue to forge forward.
This new single ‘Who Deh Like u” features Bounty Killer, Cham, & Stonebwoy and the accompanying video is directed by Jordan Hoechlin & Mojo Morgan.
